OrthopaedicsBroken legs and ruptured ligaments are fairly common in our companion animals. With over twenty years' experience in this field, Dr. Brian Dixon is our go - to for orthopaedic problems. The complex orthopaedic surgeries are performed at our Hawera centre. Brian is based here, and we will often refer cases to him that we think may require surgery.
In the video below, he describes the process of identifying lameness by using manipulation of the limb. Xrays are also required to diagnose a problem accurately, and we have a new digital xray system which gives us very clear and detailed pictures.
