What is it?

Infovet is a secure web based information management software package that consolidates your farm animal health information. It is a world first and we are excited about its potential!

Infovet consolidates your animal records (cow ID, calving, mating and health) from the LIC Minda database, milk records from Fonterra fencepost, lab reports from Animal Health Laboratories and purchases from our veterinary accounting program.

This provides easy access to animal information in a totally secure package that allows us to help you to make better animal health decisions.

What can it do?

It can do much more than can be explained here, but the main uses will be shown below.

Pregnancy Testing:

We have invested in some toughbooks which can be used on farm to immediately enter pregnancy testing data as we are scanning (this will then update with MINDA). When each cow is selected it will automatically show her AB dates, and you can confirm these or enter a date to the bull. Otherwise you can put your pregnancy testing data into Minda and it will show up on infovet.

We can use this information to:

  • Identify areas to improve reproductive performance or investigate problems
  • Benchmarking  - compare with other years or within your region
  • Produce lists of cows to be induced with ages and calving dates (for induction consults)
  • Produce  Fertility Focus Reports even with Minda link
  • Monitor and analyze Body Condition Score data (individual cows or mob)
  • High security so your farm data is never lost or misused, but is easily accessible

Alerts:

We can set alerts across the board or individual alerts to suit particular farms. The alerts can be for anything that infovet records, but are most often used for BMSCC, clinical mastitis and submission rate. These will alert the vet who covers your area of the issue and it can be dealt with appropriatley. For example if your clinical mastits rate is getting higher than expected we may call you to ask how its going and ask if you want to discuss treatment plans, or even have a farm visit. Having an alert set for your farm does not oblige you to do anything.

Want to sign up?

You need to fill out two forms (Infovet and LIC). You can drop them into the clinic or email them to matt@taranaki-vets.co.nz

You then need to login to your fencepost account and give infovet access to the data.

You can download the sign up forms and fencepost instructions below:
